Hedge Fund General Counsel Kher Sheng Lee joins AIMA

26 October, Singapore - Kher Sheng Lee has joined The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) in its Singapore office.

 

Mr Lee joins AIMA from Azentus Capital, where he held the position of General Counsel. He will take up the position of AIMA’s Managing Director, Global Deputy Head of Government Affairs and Head of APAC Government Affairs.

 

Mr Lee founded and chaired the peer-to-peer buyside networking group The Asian Hedge Fund Legal and Regulatory Group (also known as AsianHedgeLaw). He is commended by the Financial Times in the FT’s special report ‘Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers 2015’, where the FT noted that he “has played an important role developing asset management standards in Hong Kong”.

 

Mr Lee has worked closely with AIMA over several years. He was the first chair of AIMA’s Sound Practices Committee, an inaugural member of the Asset Management Standing Committee and co-chair of the Hong Kong Regulatory Committee.

 

He will work alongside Heide Blunt, Head of Asia-Pacific and Jiří Król, Deputy CEO, Global Head of Government Affairs. Mr Lee will work on identifying policy and regulatory priorities in the region which have relevance to regional and global members, as well work on select global Government and Regulatory Affairs projects.

Mr Lee is named in the Legal 500’s Corporate Counsel 100: Asia Pacific 2014, and received his LL.B (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore law school. He admitted to practise law in Singapore, Hong Kong and England & Wales, as well as being a CFA and CAIA charterholder.
