The fund aims to provide alternative strategies to customers who usually don’t have enough capital to invest in alternative strategies, says Craig Rawlins, BMO Global Asset Management’s CIO. The fund’s minimum investment is $1,000.
Some of the strategies employed in the fund include long/short equity, capital structure arbitrage and event-driven tactics. Jointly, the strategies emphasize absolute return, relying less on the direction of markets to meet client objectives.
It will be managed by BMO Asset Management, along with CTC / myCFO. The firm will provide strategic recommendations on choosing the underlying sub-advisers and the allocations among them, as well as ongoing monitoring.
