Founders of some of the largest and most well-known hedge funds are throwing big dollars at “Restore Our Future,” a super PAC that is backing Presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The donor roll for the super PAC nearly resembles a Who’s Who list of the hedge fund universe.

Among the donors who have given more than a million to the super PAC are Citadel Investment Group’s Ken Griffin ($2.8M), Tiger Management’s Julian Robertson ($1.25M), Elliott Management’s Paul Singer ($1M) and Paulson & Co.’s John Paulson ($1M).

Other notable industry gurus that have been identified as big donors include Bruce Kovner of Caxton Associates, Louis Bacon of Moore Capital Management, David Tepper of Appaloosa Management and Paul Tudor-Jones II of Tudor Investment Corp. All of the above mentioned hedge fund firms are members of HedgeTracker’s top hedge fund list..

Not surprisingly, many well-known private equity investors are also contributors, including Henry Kravis of KKR and Wilbur Ross of WL Ross & Co.
