Hedge Fund Conference That's All About Charity |
Date: Tuesday, March 13, 2012

The Boston chapter of 100 Women in Hedge Funds is hosting a hedge fund
conference that takes the concept of charity very seriously.
The non-profit announced recently that all of the net proceeds from its National
Conference on March 23 in Boston will be donated to the William J. Clinton
Foundation's U.S. Childhood Obesity Prevention program, Alliance for a Healthier
Generation. That would be former President Bill Clinton’s charity, which was
also a beneficiary of 100 WHF’s giving at its annual gala in November.
Featured at the all-day Boston event, presented in conjunction with the Stanford
Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, and Stanford Social Innovation Review,
will be a keynote address by value investing guru Seth Klarman, president of
Boston-based firm Baupost Group, and panels including top industry figures such
as Barbara Novick, vice-chairman at BlackRock, and David Abrams, founder of
Abrams Capital Management.
