We are delighted to announce the launch of Globalfunddata, a free-to-use quantitative fund data service providing details of more than 34,000 funds of all kinds, including hedge funds, exchange-traded funds and traditional long-only funds, that report to Morningstar.

The new service complements the existing news, features and other research on the various facets of the global fund industry offered through GFM’s daily newsletters, web sites and special reports.

Globalfunddata covers a vast array of information about each fund, including details of strategy, manager, ISIN, launch date, benchmark (where applicable), performance and volatility, charges, latest NAV and unit or share price, as well as manager contact details where available.

Users can search for funds by name, country of domicile or type of legal structure including open-ended and closed-ended investment companies, unit trusts and limited partnerships, as well as investment strategy – whether broadly or narrowly defined. Funds in different categories can be listed in alphabetical order or by performance over one month, three months, one year, or year to date.

At www.globalfunddata.com you can find quick links to key categories of fund, namely hedge funds (for which log-in to the site as a registered user is required), ETFs, long-only, open-ended, closed-ended and Ucits-compliant funds. There are also quick links to the top 50 funds in different categories according to their performance over one or three months, a year or YTD.

Over the next few months we plan to enhance this service with the introduction of charting features and portfolio tools, we hope you find this useful.
