"Primal Fear" and "Days of Heaven" actor Richard Gere is close to finalizing a
deal for an upcoming movie about a hedge fund magnate's dramatic fall from
grace, according to entertainment Web site Deadline New York.
Directed and written by Nicholas Jarecki, "Arbitrage" will tell the
story of a fraudulent hedge fund manager, who, in the process of desperately
trying to sell off his empire, commits a bloody blunder and must turn to an
unlikely person for help.
The "unlikely person" is slated to be the
character played by Susan Sarandon, known for her acclaimed roles in "Thelma
& Louise" and "Dead Man Walking."
Rounding out the movie will be
French actress and "Casino Royale" Bond girl Eva Green, as well as rapper and
actor Drake, a.k.a Aubrey Graham.
Al Pacino was originally chosen to
play the part of Gere's character in the early stages of selling the movie, but
has since backed out.
Jarecki, 25, is a graduate of NYU film school. His
first feature film documentary, "The Outsider," was released in 2006.
