Hedge Funds Seen Doing Better as Volatility Lessens

Date: Thursday, January 6, 2011
Author: Alan Purkiss, Bloomberg

This will be a better year for hedge funds, with the prospect of less market volatility than in 2010, according to Randall Dillard, the chief investment officer at Liongate Capital Management LLP, a fund of hedge funds, the Financial Times reported.

The average hedge fund returned a little more than 7 percent in the 11 months to the end of November, less than the rise in the leading stock market indexes during the same period, according to Hedge Fund Research, the newspaper said.
