BluMont Strategic Partners Hedge Fund announced has appointed Stephen Stacey to its board of trustees and to hold the position of chairman.
Stacey has been involved with the Canadian investment industry for the last 35 years, having most recently been senior vp and managing director, investor products and services at BMO Nesbitt Burns.
He is also a past member of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada’s Sales Practices Committee and was a member of the Working Committee on Fund Governance and Conflicts of Interest for the Steering Committee to advise the OSC regarding the Stromberg Report on Mutual Funds.
Stacey’s appointment took effect on Friday, January 20, upon the concurrent retirement of David Currie from the board of trustees of the fund.
The BluMont Strategic Partners Hedge Fund is a closed-end trust the primary objective of which is to achieve capital appreciation while managing risk through the use of a diversified hedged equity investment program. The fund pursues this objective by allocating its roughly $54 million in assets across a diversified portfolio.
