Artemis Brings U.S. Hedge Fund Manager Cooperman To Canada

TORONTO (Dow Jones)--Artemis Investment Management aims to give Canadian retail investors access to the investment prowess of well-known U.S. hedge fund manager Leon Cooperman, the latest attempt to provide exposure to hedge funds that would otherwise be out of reach for most in this group.

Big U.S. hedge funds are typically shut to most Canadian retail investors either because the minimum investment requirement to access these funds is too much or the funds are closed to new investors. In response, closed-end funds have been created here as an affordable way for retail investors to overcome these obtacles.
