UBS (UBS.N) (UBSN.VX) has named David Forsyth as the head of Singapore prime broking, a unit that serves hedge funds, replacing Alastair Sclater who had held the post for less than a year.

Forsyth, who will join UBS in mid-June, was head of prime brokerage sales for Australia before he left the Swiss bank in 2008 for Kerry Consulting, according to an internal note seen by Reuters.

UBS named Sclater to the new post of head of its Singapore prime brokerage in August last year, as the Swiss bank aims to build that business in Asia's second-biggest centre for hedge funds.
