Caldwell Canada Fund engages Meisels to provide research

Ron Meisels, a prominent technical analyst, has been engaged as a consultant to provide research for the Caldwell Canada Fund, Caldwell Investment Management Ltd. announced Thursday.

Meisels, president of Phases & Cycles Inc., was ranked among the top three technical analysts by Canadian institutions for six consecutive years in the Brendan Wood survey.

“Ron is one of Canada’s great technical analysts. We are very excited to have him assisting our team,” says Brendan Caldwell, president of Caldwell Investment Management and portfolio manager of the fund.

“We believe that Ron’s insights into stock market trends will help investors in the Caldwell Canada Fund to make money,” he adds.

Caldwell Canada Fund’s investment objectives of long-term capital appreciation will not change, but decisions about sector weightings and the selection of securities will be assisted by research provided by Meisels and his team. Securities will be chosen from a universe of the 100 largest Canadian companies by market capitalization. The fund will also be permitted to actively manage the cash balance, write covered calls and buy index bear exchange traded funds when market conditions warrant.
