Quadrangle, GKM Newport to Pay New York in Pension Inquiry

Quadrangle Group LLC will pay $7 million and GKM Newport Generation Capital Services LLC $1.6 million among settlements disclosed today in a New York attorney general’s investigation into public pension funds.

Political consulting firm Global Strategy Group will pay $2 million; California lobbying firm Platinum Advisors will pay $500,000; and unlicensed placement agent Kevin McCabe will pay $715,000, the attorney general’s office said in a statement. The office said almost $12 million will be paid under the settlements.
