U.S. Treasury Proposes Hedge-Fund Registration Legislation

The U.S. Treasury proposed legislation to require hedge-funds managing at least $30 million to register with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The rules would require hedge funds to report on a confidential basis their assets under management, borrowings, off-balance sheet holdings, counterparty risks, and trading and investment positions.
