SaaS Application Consolidates Financial Technology News of over 4,000 Global Institutions in a Single User Interface
MUNICH, Germany, 15 June 2009 – Valuescope GmbH, a specialist in semantic web business applications, today
launched Finsights, its online news aggregation suite for the financial technology industry.
Finsights is particularly targeted at senior management, sales and marketing professionals and industry
researchers who rely on and subscribe to several online sources for news and information on the financial
technology industry. This powerful new semantics application currently crawls over 500 of the leading banking,
insurance, trading, asset management and financial technology internet resources and consolidates them in a
single web interface.
The beta version of Finsights was released three weeks ago to a select group of individuals and their enthusiastic
feedback has resulted in a cleaner, clearer layout that is easy to use and quick to customize to suit individual needs
and preferences. Page loading times have been significantly reduced though more and more sources, industry
events and key people are being added continuously.
“With Finsights 1.0 we’re solving several key issues for a wide range of financial technology professionals,” says
Stefan Ki Müller, Managing Director of valuecope. “These professionals now have access to all their daily news
sources via a single web interface and can quickly and easily hone in on the most relevant of articles by setting
their filters via keywords, geography and area of focus. Promotions and other job changes of key industry contacts
are also monitored with Finsights, making it an effective sales and marketing tool. When people see the multitude
of options available to them they are immediately eager to know more, and we’re very happy with the initial
response the users have shown towards Finsights 1.0.”
Graham Mansfield, Managing Director of Kalahari Limited, was a beta user of Finsights and was very pleased with
the ease of use. “I really like the system; once it is set up it’s so easy to check the news and saves me a lot of time
going through countless emails and websites.”
“Finsights is a dream product. Every sales person, every marketing and press department will want it. Getting this
kind of highly targeted information any other way has, to date, been time-consuming and expensive. Or, worse,
the troops in the front line simply haven’t had it when they needed it. Now, technology has arrived there’s no
need to miss out,” said beta user Ian Murray, Financial Services IT Consultant, Aurora Business Consultancy Ltd.
Finsights incorporates valuescope's sophisticated natural language processing technology using keywords,
ontologies and taxonomies to classify texts and learn about their relevance. When applied to the financial
technology industry it can automatically indentify industry events out of an overwhelming amount of irrelevant or
redundant web content and present it in a clean, easy to use web interface. The result is a robust tool that is
especially helpful for sales and marketing professionals who are searching for a contact person in middle
management.
