SciVest launches global fund of hedge funds: CC&L’s Jang to manage new fund

By IE Staff- SciVest Alternative Strategies Inc. today announced the launch of the SciVest Global Multi-Strategy Fund, a global fund of hedge funds. The new fund will be managed by Colin Jang, who is responsible for the strategy and operation of fund of hedge funds within the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group of companies (CC&L), which has over $23 billion of assets under management. The fund will invest in a diverse and actively managed group of hedge funds that utilize a variety of alternative investment strategies. It will use a top down strategy allocation process, According to SciVest, the fund will seek to provide consistent risk adjusted returns that have a low correlation to traditional asset classes. Colin Jang, the fund’s portfolio manager, has over 15 years of experience in institutional money management including responsibility for the management of over $1 billion in global equity assets at CC&L. “We are delighted to be working with SciVest in launching the SciVest Global Multi-Strategy Fund. Individual investors in the Fund will have the benefit of our experience and expertise in managing fund of hedge funds designed for institutional investors,” says Colin Jang of CC&L. “Essentially, we will be using our proven institutional investment management methodology to seek added value for SciVest’s retail investors.”
