Swiss
based hedge fund Farringdon has been nominated for best Global Equity
Fund 2008 in the EuroHedge Awards. The fund was founded in 2006 by
Danish, Andreas Tholstrup and Dutchman, Bram Cornelisse in 2006.
- We are of course pleased with this recognition, Andreas Tholstrup tells Hedgenordic.com
It
is the second time Andreas Tholstrup has been nominated for best Global
Equity Hedge Fund. The first time was when Andreas was working for
Carnegie as a manager for Carnegie WorldWide Long/Short.
Andreas
Tholstrup was the founder of Carnegie WorldWide Long/Short, which he
left in spring 2006 to start his own fund Farringdon. Andreas
established Farringdon together with his colleague from Merrill Lynch,
Bram Cornelisse. The two worked together at Merrill Lynch in the
nineties. At that time, Merrill Lynch was based in the district called
Farringdon which is where the name derives from.
Farringdon
had a good 2008, being one of the few hedge funds that saw net inflows
in worst year of outflows ever for the industry, moreover Farringdon
ended the year up by 4.88 pct with a risk profile that was considerably
below that of the market. In 2007 Farringdon returned +15% and they
are so far onto a positive start to 2009
