SciVest Capital Management Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Rodgers as Vice President, Risk Management. At SciVest, Mike is responsible for the SciVest's risk management and compliance platform. Mike will also contribute to both the research and development teams, not only creating, but refining investment strategies. Mike joins SciVest's Toronto office from New Brunswick Investment Management ('NBIM'). NBIM is the investment manager for the pension assets of the public service, teachers and judges of the Province of New Brunswick. NBIM is the largest institutional investor in Atlantic Canada with assets totalling $6.6 Billion under management. As a Senior Portfolio Manager at NBIM, Mike was responsible for managing the fund's $2 billion core equity strategy covering Canada, the U.S., Europe and Japan. Mike also created and ran NBIM's quantitative market neutral equity portfolio. Mike brings more than 8 years of quantitative experience to SciVest. He has a BBA in Economics from the University of New Brunswick, a MA in Economics from Simon Fraser University and is a CFA charterholder.
