More Bear Stearns charges possible

Additional charges may be announced in the case against former Bear Stearns hedge fund managers Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin, federal prosecutors said in court yesterday.

The investigation into the alleged fraud that preceded their funds collapse is continuing, said Assistant US Attorney Patrick Sinclair. Any more charges would be announced by early autumn and would be added to the nine counts filed against the two men last month, he said.
