Richard Heller, a partner with the law firm Thompson Hine, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Hedge Fund Association, an international non-profit association of hedge fund managers, service providers and investors that seeks to increase awareness of the hedge fund industry and its advantages and opportunities.

His experience includes hedge fund offering documents and exhibits and related securities filings, forming and registering broker-dealers with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and providing compliance advice for broker-dealers.

He has also knowledge of preparing documents and filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission for public offerings, forming investment advisers and rendering compliance advice, providing state securities and blue-sky advice to US law firms, and defending registered representatives before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Heller has served three times on the SEC's business forum on small capital formation, which has published recommendations to the White House.

Established in 1911, Thompson Hine is a business law firm with more than 400 lawyers at offices in Atlanta, Brussels, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, New York and Washington, DC.
