<>TORONTO, February 6, 2008 -- Hillsdale Investment Management announced today that Dr. Taha Jaffer has joined the firm as Director of Research. Dr. Jaffer will lead the firm in critical areas including global risk management as well as provide further advancements in strategy optimization and portfolio construction. Dr. Jaffer will also be a senior member of Hillsdale's portfolio management team and will contribute his knowledge of option valuation and trading to the management of Hillsdale's Canadian Market Neutral Equity Fund. Prior to joining Hillsdale, Dr. Jaffer worked for five years at Northwater Capital Management serving as Vice President, Research and Hedge Fund Investments.

Dr. Taha Jaffer has more than 12 years of experience in research, of which 7 years are in finance. Most recently, Dr. Jaffer served as Vice President, Research and Hedge Fund Investments at USD $9.2 billion Northwater Capital Management where he was involved in hedge fund manager due diligence and led an extensive array of investment research projects. Previously, he was an Investment Analyst at Manulife Financial where he was involved in the design and development of proprietary trading algorithms and various forecasting systems.
Dr. Jaffer graduated in 2002 with a Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering, a Masters in Mathematical Finance, a M.A.Sc in Biomedical Engineering and a B.A.Sc in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. He has also published research papers on extensive topics.
