Balsam launches new hedge fund

Balsam Hedge Funds is launching the Balsam Canadian Conservative Hedge Fund Trust, an RRSP eligible absolute return product for investors in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta. The trust has two primary objectives: preservation of capital; and a positive return each year at a minimum of 4% to 6% per year, whether the Canadian equity market has positive or negative returns. The trust employs a long/short strategy with certain restrictions relating to leveraging, currency trading, futures and derivatives.
