Gottex Fund Management hires Fullerton to boost investment team

Gottex Fund Management Holdings has announced the appointment of Brian Fullerton as a managing director and member of the Gottex research committee, based in the firm's New York office.

Fullerton brings to Gottex more than 25 years experience, most recently as chief investment officer for the Americas and a member of the executive committee for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, which he joined in 1999 as head of risk management.

He was previously was treasurer and chief risk officer at Putman Investments for four years. Fullerton began his career in 1984 at JP Morgan, where he was a member of the derivatives group.

Incorporated in Guernsey, Gottex is the holding company of an independent global alternative investment management group whose core business is the management of a diversified range of funds of hedge funds.

The Gottex Group provides portfolio selection and asset allocation advice, as well as risk management and investment monitoring services, to a broad and diversified institutional client base, structures and manages specialised fund of hedge fund managed accounts and provides related investment advisory services.

The group, which has offices in Lausanne, London, Hong Kong, New York, Boston and Luxembourg and associated offices in Sydney and Montevideo, advises funds that are invested with more than 155 hedge fund managers worldwide and had USD15bn in assets under management at the end of October.
