Investors added $18.6 billion in new money to hedge funds in September, marking the third-lowest inflow this year, according to data released on Tuesday. Funds that specialize in emerging markets took in 61 percent of the total as investors added $11.4 billion, TrimTabs Investment Research reported. Emerging markets funds were also the month's best performers, returning 5.7 percent.
