Man Unveils New Incubation Platform

Man Global Strategies and Plinthos Capital today unveiled its Founders Incubation Platform, a seeding and incubation platform for U.S.-based hedge fund managers.

The Founders Program combines a traditional seeding platform with a multi-strategy investment platform, and aims to provide entrepreneurial portfolio managers with an infrastructure and sufficient capital so they can concentrate solely on asset management, according to the firm.

Man Global, which manages US$19 billion in assets, provides the investment and working capital for the incubation platform while Plinthos provides infrastructure support, which includes office space, trading execution technology, and legal and compliance support. Simon Irish, head of U.S. manager selection for MGS, will lead the initiative.

“The Founders Program will enable us to support some of the best money managers to develop sustainable asset management businesses with long-term performance potential,” said Alexander Lowe, CEO of Man Global Strategies.
