Geneva-based software provider FinLab has released its latest version of its PackHedge product designed for investment professionals in the hedge fund industry.
FinLab provides software products and services to investment professionals making asset allocation decisions on hedge funds, fund of hedge funds and traditional funds. Says chief executive Denis de Pentheny O'Kelly: 'PackHedge is a proven, robust and affordable technology which makes the complexity of the hedge fund and traditional fund universes simpler and easier to operate within.'
PackHedge is a series of state of the art modular software tools that provide a multi-source, multi-currency, multi frequency qualitative and quantitative data management model. It includes data aggregation, statistical analysis and charting, a multi-dimensional query engine, pro-forma portfolio simulation, comprehensive fund of funds portfolio management, and customisable reporting capabilities.
The major areas of functionality delivered in the new version of PackHedge contain new qualitative fields including liquidity gate, open period, capacity, total expense ratio, subscription and redemption frequency definitions and full NAV calculation.
Customisable time series allows users to create their own unique data streams, for example firm AUM, risk factors, number of employees, new statistics such as Sharpe omega, conditional value-at-risk, tail analysis, up/down benchmark statistics calculation and inert-benchmarks rolling correlation time series.
Significant enhancements to the look, feel and performance of PackHedge include a new analysis window, the ability to open multiple fund objects simultaneously and a new notes capture and management facility. Simplified import of data files from major fund information providers aims to ensure faster and timely data capture.
Adds de Pentheny O'Kelly: 'This latest release of PackHedge puts us further ahead of our competition in price, functionality and performance terms. We have the lowest entry price level in the market with superior functionality and ease of use capability. These new features meet needs of the professional investor who is a consumer of funds, typically fund of funds, private bankers, financial institutions, family offices and financial advisers who want to develop and manage a portfolio of alternative and/or traditional fund investments.
'They need to track, research, allocate and manage the assets they have placed under management. The astute investor must be able to dynamically allocate and manage their portfolios. An investment manager can now achieve a new level of accuracy and timeliness in their asset allocation decision-making.'
